You may have not seen our most recent Hmoodle Girl out on the town, but that's the way she likes it.She may not be a party girl, but she does enjoy what life has to offer. Amie Keoviva isn't just a pretty girl, she's the pretty girl you take home to meet your Mom.

Amie has Hmong, Laotian, & Thai roots and is very proud of all three. Her family is what keeps her focused on what's important in life. With that comes the pursuit of a higher education. She is currently attending Winona College and is taking classes towards a Law Enforcement and Nursing Degree---definitely a go-getter.

I had the opportunity to get with Amie and talk about her taking a chance by being a Hmoodle girl and what makes her tick. Here is the outcome of that interview.

Ryan:    I'm here with Amie Keoviva, the newest addition to our Hmoodle Girls. Let me be first to congratulate you on being selected.

Amie:    Thank you for letting me be a part of Hmoodle. I thought by doing this I could express myself and let people know who I am.

Ryan:    Well I hope we can help you do that. To get things started why don't you tell our readers a little about yourself.

Amie:    I'm eighteen, 5'3 and my nationalities are Laotian, Thai, and Hmong. I can only speak English, but I'm trying to learn to speak my languages now. As a kid my dad didn't want my sisters and I to speak Laotian/Thai or Hmong. He thought we would learn better that way. To me there wasn't a difference. My father is Laotian and half Thai, and my mother is Hmong. They've separated for a while now. My mom speaks to me in Hmong often, and I understand it, but can't speak it fluently.

I enjoy playing sports such as football or soccer. I also enjoy keeping my family together by planning out events for us to do, or just cooking big meals for fun! I like to knit/crochet and sew clothing for my family, being that I'm the only one in my family whose good at it!

Most people like to judge me by my cover and think of me as a party person, or a bad role model just because I dye/highlight my hair, or have a few ear piercings. I'm just a "Stay at home type" girl, who doesn't want to be bothered with people's stupidity and random hatred towards me. Lets just say that all of my parents friends and relatives would want me as their daughter-in-law. Yes, doesn't that just explains enough on what kind of person I am? I can be fun and spontaneous at times, but when it comes down to reality, I do get serious.

Ryan:    The Saint Paul Hmong New Year has come and gone. Is it something you still look forward to?

Amie:    I'm not really a fan of the whole Hmong New Year thing. I mean its not that I don't like to go there, or discriminate it, it's just that there is always drama or some sort of misunderstanding with relationships as in, someone cheating on the other person. There always seems to be backstabbing between friends there as well.

Ryan:    What do you enjoy the most about the New Year?

Amie:    I do enjoy the food! I also like the new Hmong movies that come out!! I'd say hanging out with friends or family, but usually everyone separates or get lost and I end up alone anyways.

Ryan:    Christmas is coming up soon. Do you prefer to give presents or to receive them?

Amie:    I Prefer both!!! I love to give out Christmas presents even to people that I barely know. I think I'm just nice like that!

Ryan:    Is there anything that you really want this year?

Amie:    There's nothing I really want except for it not to snow! It's pretty and all, but It causes so many car accidents or people get injured from slipping on ice. Especially those who go ice fishing.

Ryan:    I read that you are attending Winona College and you are keeping yourself busy there. What are you attempting to major in and why?

Amie:    I'm majoring in becoming a Registered Nurse or Law Enforcement. They both seem to be exciting careers to have. So as of right now, I'm taking courses for both and waiting to see which career suits me the best.

Ryan:    You also mentioned that you aren't into the club scene, in fact you've never been. Is there a reason you've avoided it thus far?

Amie:    Clubbing seems to be fun, but I guess I'm just not a party type and I'm afraid that I do start clubbing, I may not be able to stop and end up dropping out of school.

Ryan:    Prior to doing this Hmoodle shoot, have you had any previous modeling experience?

Amie:    In the past I've had a little experience, but as high school ends and college beginning I've stop looking for modeling opportunities because most peoples dream don't come true, and I feel that I'm one of those people. I then decided to pursue things that could become a reality to me.

Ryan:    Is this something that you want to pursue in the future?

Amie:    I guess just making sure I get through college and make my mom happy. She depends on me the most out of my four sisters.

Ryan:    When not in school, what do you do to keep busy?

Amie:    I help my mom run her Sushi Bar business and hang out with my family. I also plan events or just stay home and catch up with any work I put aside. I know, I seem like a boring person to hang around with, but that doesn't bother me at all. I don't really care about having fun yet! I want to make sure my life runs smoothly without any mistakes. Sometimes my sister and I have a little dance practice like Hip Hop, or breakdance. I'm not really good, but I don't care, its just fun!

Ryan:    I want to thank you once again for being apart of Hmoodle. Do you have any last words for our readers?

Amie:    Thank you so much for having me. Its been a real pleasure to be apart of Hmoodle.com.

She may not be a party girl, but Amie doesn't lack confidence. She knows what she wants and she is going to get it. Definitely woman with great drive and determination. Failure is definitely not an option.

I want to thank Amie once again for taking the time out her schedule and congratulate her on being selected as a Hmoodle Girl. We wish you the best of luck with all your future endeavors in life.
