This past July ChozenOne Productions along with Trilogy Productions presented Candy Shop 2 and that's where Hmoodle met this month's Girl Next Door. Qao Xiong stood out in the crowd of many with her little purple dress that truly was a piece of "eye candy".

Since then I have been able to really get to know Qao (pronounced Gao) and she definitely has a great personality to go along with those beautiful looks. She's always laughing about something and really excited about the little things in life, which is really uplifting.

The week prior to the planned photo shoot, Qao expressed such joy about being a Hmoodle Girl Next Door and participating in the photo shoot. Unfortunately when the day came, we ran into a day of constant rain. Not to be deterred Qao came up with an idea about going to Downtown Minneapolis and taking shots. Not only did the shoot turn out great, in my opinion, but we truly had a great time roaming through the crowds in Minneapolis.

I had the chance to sit down and talk with Qao and interviewed her, so you the readers could get to know her a little better.

Hmoodle:   I am here with Qao Xiong, Hmoodle's Girl Next Door for the month of October...first off congratulations one being selected.

Qao:   Thank you so much. This is pretty cool.

Hmoodle:   Are you actively pursuing a career in modeling or is this just a hobby?

Qao:   It's just a hobby for now. I don't think I could do this as a career yet. Let's just say, I'm not quite ready for the "real" thing yet. I still have many years ahead and when the time comes, it'll come. If it doesn't then I'm happy. Taking pictures isn't all about being a model.

Hmoodle:   Did you always enjoy getting pictures taken of you or is it something that you acquired a taste for as you grew up?

Qao:   I don't know, both? 'laughs' I like getting my pictures taken for memories, at the same time I grew up taking pictures so I'm use to it.

Hmoodle:   You mentioned that you were a very talkative kid while growing up, so did your parents enjoy that about you or did you drive them crazy?

Qao:   Honestly, I have never asked my parents that question. I also used to sing a lot when I was little, so I am not sure if I was annoying or not. My daddy always took me with him where ever he went because I was so short, cute, and adorable with the Dora cut hair and a big smile!

Hmoodle:   You recently graduated from Minneapolis Business College while majoring in Legal Administration. Was that a career you always wanted or was it something you discovered in college?

Qao:   It was something I discovered while attending college. College is a big step in life for those just getting out of high school or any first time college student. At first I majored in Office Administration and then I changed my career to Legal Administration because I wanted to learn more about the law. I'm hoping to further my career in legal world, but I don't know which field.

Hmoodle:   The degree has gained you employment at Sieben, Grose, Von Holtum & Carey, Ltd., so how long have you been working there and what exactly is your position?

Qao:   Minneapolis Business College found me this job before I graduated. I've been here for 4 months working as a lawyer's assistant.

Hmoodle:   So, do you have any plans for further education?

Qao:   As of now work. No plans for the future yet. I can't really plan because you never know what the future holds for you. I'll let my future surprise me.

Hmoodle:   Alright, let's lighten the mood a bit here, with summer being over now, do you look forward to the fall season and the changing of the colors?

Qao:   Love fall! Fall's the best season around! All the colors, the outfits, the boots! Every year, all I'm excited about is fall! Love it!

Hmoodle:   Something else you mentioned to me is that you created costumes for your friends last year and it sounds like something you enjoy doing, so my question to you is, could we ever see creating your own fashion? Qao:   I could see myself creating my own fashion for myself. I get lazy at times making clothes for others, but I'm fine with it as long as they're happy. My motto is "when you can't find it in the store, you may as well make your own."

Hmoodle:   The President Elections are coming up this November, can you tell our readers out there why you think it important to vote

Qao:   Wow, this sounds like a pageant question. I want world peace..? 'laughs' It is important to vote because you can make a difference. For example, in our history book when African American people couldn't vote, they fought just to vote just because they wanted their own rights. Think about this one, if we never had the chance to vote, what would we do? So it is very important to vote, just because we have the right to vote does not mean that we have the right not to participate. No matter the bad things you say, or I say, or any other countries say about the United States, we are still Americans and we have this right to vote for our rights. Just be glad that we're all here and that we're not stuck in the middle of the jungles suffering. We've seen enough through the television, or Youtube and I know through the Hmong community's eyes we want to make a difference so everybody who is qualified to vote should vote this year.

Hmoodle:   Lastly, is there anything else you'd like to say to our readers out there?

Qao:   Ladies and Gents open your eyes and see the real thing, don't take live life with regret. Live, love, and learn that's what life is about. When you say that you're going to make it big, go make it big don't sit back and dream. Thank you!

You can't not help, but like Qao Xiong. She has a way of making everyone around her feel like they are in a good mood. There just doesn't seem to be a way to erase the smile from her face.

Never short on words, Qao kept the conversation flowing as we meandered our way through the maze like skyways of Minneapolis. We talked about anything and everything. Along with her sister being there, there wasn't much dead air. She was also great at giving insight in the art of photography and ways to take great pictures, which we appreciated very much.

Lastly, I want to thank Qao for participating with Hmoodle and being our Hmoodle Girl Next Door. I also want to wish her a Happy 20th Birthday from Hmoodle. I know you have some big plans for it, enjoy!
