The time has come once again for Hmoodle to select a new Hmoodle Girl. This month, we've selected the vivacious Victoria Vang, a local beauty from the Twin Cities metro area.
Victoria isn't new to being in front of the camera as she's been modeling since she was twelve years old. Not only does she like being in front of the camera, but also likes to be the one taking the pictures. Something that I think helps all potential models and current models understand the industry as a whole. The Hmong 4th of July Celebration is upon us, so I was fortunate enough to meet with Victoria so that our readers could get to know her a little bit better. Ryan: I'm here with the very beautiful Victoria Vang, who is our newest Hmoodle Girl. Let me be the first to congratulate you. Victoria: Thanks so much! Its a pleasure being a Hmoodle Girl. Ryan: Before we get started, why don't you tell our readers a little bit about yourself. Victoria: Well, I grew up in the Twin Cities and am the Oldest in my family. Just like an ordinary person I work and love having fun. I've never traveled out of state. I am also make up junkie! I help out with my dad alot at his printing shop, so I know quite a bit on how things work there. I am the type of person who wants to learn a bit of everything. l guess you can say I'm the girl next door. Ryan: I know you've done some modeling before, so how long have you been doing that and have you enjoyed your experiences thus far? Victoria: Yes, I've done a few. I'm proud to say through out this year I've learned so much and had alot of fun at all the shoots. I've been modeling since twelve. My mother signed me with Barbizon, a modeling agency, but we had some family problems, so I never got to see it though. She supported me well. Since than I've met up with make up artists, photographers, and started shooting on my own. Ryan: What kind of opportunities has modeling provided for you that you may have not gotten hadn't you chosen that path? Victoria: I was very insecure about my looks, and how skinny I was. I didnt want just pretty pictures, but pictures that would capture the true me. So one day a make up artist and I collabrated with the help of some photographers, we took some amazing photos. When I saw the photos I was stunned! It was crazy beautiful and I learned to love my body features and my flaws. I realized that if I didn't care how poised I was or how much make up I was wearing, I would be fine. I feel like modeling has opened up many doors for me. Ryan: In your bio, you mentioned that you like taking pictures. Do you enjoy being in front or behind the camera more? Victoria: I love being behind and in front of the camera. laughs That sounds kind of dirty. Its completely different. When I'm in front of the camera I feel different. Somewhere in between smiling and trying to fix my hair they'll do a test shoot and capture an unexpected photo. When I'm behind the camera it's such an amazing feeling. I'm creating memories within seconds! Ryan: Summer is upon us, what do you look forward to the most when it comes to Summer? Victoria: Oh definitely swimming and doing BBQ's. I definitely need some tanning. I'm so white even whiter than most Americans. My co-workers calls me wasian. laughs It dont take a genuis to figure what that stands for! laughs Ryan: With Summer coming it also means that the Hmong July 4th Celebration is just around the corner. Do you still get excited about that? Why or why not? Victoria: Oh my god, its the same feeling ever since I was a kid. I've been working so much now at Wet Seal, a retail store, and since its at the Mall of America they have extended holiday hours, so I've been missing alot. This year though, I will be sure going to the festival. Its just the fact that you get to meet friends and family and eat lots of my favorite cultural food and just have fun! Ryan: I know you work full time, so when you're not working or modeling, what do you do for fun? Victoria: When I'm not working or modeling I like to do alot of things. If I'm not lazy, I take my brothers and sisters to the park, swimming, or go out to watch a movie. I also make plans with friends to go to a spa, or just hang out and catch up. My ultimate favorite is watching movies and foresnic files. Its so crazy and interesting at the same time. Thank god for our great technology! Ryan: Before you worked full time did you attend college? If so where? Victoria: I haven't attended college yet, but still debating what I want to major in. That's always the part that gets me. Ryan: What sorts of goals do you have? Victoria: Goals, there's too many and they are so silly. I don't want to push myself just so I can pursue it. The best things of life is the little things and I don't want to miss out on the little things while stressing over mid terms or financial problems. Ryan: Do you think they are attainable? Victoria: My goals are very attainable! smiles Ryan: I wish you the best of luck in attaining those goals. I think this is a great place to end the interview. Do you have any last words for our readers? Victoria: I just want to thank everyone for everything. If it wasn't for all the input and support I wouldn't be the person I am today. I wouldn't have been on here! Thanks Hmoodle for the time and I wish the best for everyone!! Once agin, I want congratulate Victoria Vang for being selected as our Hmoodle Girl for the month of July. I definitely had a great time in doing this interview. We at Hmoodle wish you the best of luck with your future endeavors.
